NJ has started sending out questionnaires to independent contractors they discover during audits of other companies.
I know there has been a lot of hysteria regarding the AB5 bill in California and The Sweeney Bill in NJ. But these bills are mostly meant to protect employees who have been misclassified as subcontractors.
This questionnaire gives all of us a good indication of what NJ is looking for to establish if someone is a legitimate business. You will also see the standard A B C rules we all know very well already.
